P1 Meter is compatible with DSMR 4.0 and 5.0 standards. For the best performance, DSMR 5.0 is recommended since it supports high-frequency data updates, which makes real-time Energy Management System (EMS) strategies more effective.

While DSMR 4.0 meters are also compatible, there are some limitations. The protocol only allows updates every 10 seconds, which reduces responsiveness for EMS. In addition, DSMR 4.0 meters require external power. Since the P1 Meter includes a USB-C port, you'll need a power socket and cable near the meter box.

For DSMR 4.0 users, we recommend the following options:

Option 1: Consider switching to Anker SOLIX Smart Meter (Model: A17X7) for high-frequency data collection. A certified electrician is required for the installation. Please refer to our official manual on our website for instructions.

Option 2: Contact your energy provider to inquire about upgrading your meter to DSMR 5.0. Please note that upgrade availability and costs will depend on your grid operator and local regulations.
