What should I do if my solar panels don’t work?

Usually, solar panels will charge phones/tablets in full sunlight. They do not work indoors.

Older model solar panels, such as Anker 513 Solar Panel (21W)/PowerPort Solar Lite 2, will stop charging when a cloud or a shadow passes by, and will not resume charging until you unplug the cable from the solar panel and plug it in again.

Please try these general troubleshooting steps if your solar panels do not work:

  • Fold away the solar charger for 5 minutes, unfold it again in full sunlight, then try to charge your phone to see if it works.
  • Try using another cable to charge your phone
  • See if the solar charger works properly with other phones/devices

If all of the above tips cannot help you resolve the problem, please directly contact us for further assistance. Make sure to briefly mention the tips you’ve already tried so that a solution can be provided faster.
