While using your Robot Lawn Mower to cut the grass, it might occasionally miss cutting the edges of your lawn. This may occur due to several different factors. This article highlights frequent reasons for missed cuts and their corresponding solutions to assist you in swiftly diagnosing the issue and regaining effective mowing results.
-
Failed to cut near the wall (safety protection mechanism)
-
Cause: Due to the safety protection mechanism, when the Robot Lawn Mower operates near barriers like walls and fences, it will proactively keep a distance of approximately 10cm to prevent damage to the Robot Lawn Mower or walls.
-
Solution: For the 10cm area by the wall, it is recommended to use a handheld trimmer to finish cutting the leftover grass.
-
Edges with cliffs or varying heights (protection against falls)
-
Cause: When a steep incline, step, or height variation exists at the edges of the lawn (like the edge of a flower bed), the Robot Lawn Mower will activate the "Cliff Sensing" feature and automatically pause the blades or stop working to prevent it from falling or damaging the blades.
-
Solutions:
-
Use the app's "No-go Zone" feature to block off the corresponding drop spot.
-
Manually trim the grass in the area.
-
-
The height of the grass on the edges exceeds the Robot Lawn Mower's operating limit
-
Cause: When the grass height exceeds 9cm, it can be identified as an obstacle by the Robot Lawn Mower.
-
Solutions:
-
Initial cut: Use other tools to trim the grass shorter than 8cm.
-
Maintenance: Schedule regular mowing to keep the grass shorter than 9cm.
-
-
The edge distance configuration has not been optimized
-
Cause: If none of the aforementioned issues are present yet cuts are still missed, it could indicate that the Robot Lawn Mower’s default edge distance needs to be adjusted to suit the current mowing location.
-
Solution:
-
Adjust the "Edge-Cutting Distance" setting in the app to reduce gaps.
