What is a stacked map?
A stacked map is when the map appears to show two or more different maps on a single map. Please refer to the following image for an example of a stacked map.
What causes a stacked map?
This specific issue is usually caused by the following reasons:
- The floor is too slippery and the RoboVac's wheels slipped on the floor when it was creating a map or during its cleaning cycle.
- There is a long corridor or hallway that exceeds 10m/32.8ft, which causes the laser sensor unable to detect the RoboVac's current position.
- The RoboVac failed to reposition itself.
How to fix a stacked map?
When you encounter a stacked map issue, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Upgrade the firmware to the latest version (How to update RoboVac's firmware?)
- Restart the RoboVac by pressing the Power button for 10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt
- Reset and delete the current stacked map and remap the house (How to delete a map for the X8 series?)
If you have a long corridor or hallway that exceeds 10m/32.8ft, please try placing a potted plant in the corridor or hallway as a point of reference to avoid the same issue from happening again.
Note: If your house has two floors and the layouts of the first and second floors are similar, the maps of the first and second floors may be combined together. In this case, please place the charging base in a room with a different layout and start a new mapping process for each floor.
If the above troubleshooting steps did not resolve your issue, please enable the Activity log update feature on the eufy Clean app (What's the "Activity Log Upload" feature in the eufy Clean App?) and run the RoboVac a few times until the problem occurs again.
