What should I do if my E25/E28 robot emits an audible error stating "Failed to find station or dock, returning to start point" while cleaning?

If your E28 robot emits an audible error stating “Failed to find station or dock, return to start point” while cleaning, it is likely due to the base station being powered off or placed in a location where the robot cannot receive adequate signal.

Possible Cause 1:

The E28 robot did not start a new cleaning task from its base station.

  • Solution: To ensure accurate route planning and a successful return to the base station, please start a new cleaning task with your E28 robot from its base station.

Possible Cause 2:

The base station is not powered on.

  • Solution: Please ensure that the power cable is firmly connected to both the base station and a working outlet. Ensure that the power switch of the base station is turned on. A defective power source may prevent the robot from recognizing or returning to the base station.

Possible Cause 3:

The base station is placed on an uneven or unstable surface.

  • Solution: Ensure the base station is securely placed on an even surface. Please be aware that slanted or uneven surfaces may lead to misalignment while docking the E28 robot, potentially causing return failures.

Possible Cause 4:

The door to the area where the base station is located may be closed during the robot's cleaning cycle.

  • Solution: If the door to the area containing the base station is closed after the robot starts cleaning, it may not be able to return to the base station. Please ensure that the door to the area containing the base station stays open while the robot is cleaning.

Possible Cause 5:

Obstacles near the base station are interfering with signal transmission.

  • Solution: Remove any obstacles surrounding the base station to ensure an unobstructed route for the robot to dock. For optimal navigation of the robot, it is recommended to maintain a minimum of 1.5 meters of space in front and 0.5 meters on both sides of the base station.

Possible Cause 6:

Dirt or smudges on the infrared sensor lens affect signal detection.

  • Solution: Please inspect the infrared sensor lens located on the robot and its base station. If dust or debris is present, gently wipe the lens using a soft, lint-free cloth or a cotton swab. Clean sensors help maintain accurate alignment and signal detection.

Please refer to the images below to locate the infrared sensor lens on both the base station and the robot:

Note: Do not power off or move the base station while the robot is in operation, and ensure that the door to the area containing the base station stays open.
