If the Smart Switch is not connected to the Internet, what should I do?

1. Make sure you are connecting Smart Switch to a 2.4GHz wireless network.

2. Check whether you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.

3. Check if there are any Internet connection problems. If the Wi-Fi signal is too weak, reset your wireless router and try again.

4. Your router may be set up to require you to add Smart Switch's MAC address in order for Smart Switch to connect to the Internet. If so, go to your router's security settings to add Smart Switch's MAC address.

5. The number of devices connected to the router has reached the maximum. If so, disconnect devices already connected to the router.

6. If it still cannot be connected, reset the smart switch and connect it to your Wi-Fi network again. Press and hold the Reset Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart switch is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

If Smart Switch's status is offline, what should I do?

1. Check to see if the router is powered off. If the power is off, turn on the power.

2. Check to see if the router is disconnected from the Internet. If disconnected, consult your network provider.

3. Check to see if there is a power outage in your home. If the power is off, turn on the power.

4. Check to see if Smart Switch is disconnected from the router. If the connection has been dropped, you can try to restart Smart Switch.

5. If this doesn't work, reset Smart Switch and connect it to your Wi-Fi network again. Press and hold the Reset Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart switch is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

There is no response when controlling the device with the eufy app.

1. Check if there are any Internet problems. If necessary, reset your wireless router and try again.

2. Do not use a metal faceplate with Smart Switch to prevent Wi-Fi signal interference.

3. If your smart device uses a 3G or 4G mobile network, check whether the network signal is abnormal. Try again when the signal becomes stable.

4. If you still have trouble, reset Smart Switch to factory settings. Press and hold the Reset Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart switch is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

I can't control the connected device via Alexa voice control.

1. Check if there are any Internet connection problems.

2. Check if you have installed the Alexa app onto your smart device and if you have enabled the "eufy Clean" skill in the Alexa app. You will be able to discover Smart Switch after doing this.

3. Check if you are using the proper commands when talking to Alexa. When making our request, first say the wake word "Alexa", then the command.

4.Repeat your question. Speak clearly to Alexa.

5. Check if you have modified the name of Smart Switch in the eufy app. If you have, you will need to rediscover the device through the Alexa app or Alexa voice control.

I can't control the connected device via Google Assistant voice control.

1.Check if there are any Internet connection problems.

2.Check if you have installed the Google Home app onto your smart device and enabled the “eufy Clean” Skill in the Google Home app.

3.Check if you are using the proper commands when talking to the Google Assistant. When making your request, first say the wake words “Ok Google”.

4.Repeat your question. Speak clearly to the Google Assistant.

5.Check if you have modified the name of Smart Switch in the eufy app. If yes, unlink your eufy Clean account from the Google Home app and then relink.

Does Smart Switch have multi-voltage support? Can I install and use Smart Switch in other countries?

Smart Switch has multi-voltage support and works in the range of 100-240V. But the voltage standard marked on the label complies with the local market's standard. Please check the size and specifications if you need to use this Smart Switch in another country.

Can Smart Switch be used outdoors?

Smart Switch is designed for indoor use, but can be used if there is a Wi-Fi signal outdoors and the outlet is protected by a roof or overhang. Due to the wide range of temperatures outside your home, Smart Switch might not operate properly if it exceeds the suggested operating temperatures.

What are the system and hardware requirements for the eufy app?

iOS 8.0 or higher

Android 4.3 or higher

Does Smart Switch support the 5GHz Wi-Fi network?

No. Currently, Smart Switch only supports the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

Does Smart Switch support the IFTTT app?

No. Currently Smart Switch only supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

How do I use Smart Switch with eufy Genie / Amazon Echo / Google Assistant?

Refer to the Smart Integrations section under the ME tab for more details.

How many Smart Switches can the eufy app control?

The eufy app can control an unlimited number of Smart Switches.

 

However, the number of Smart Switches that can be supported at any given time is limited to how many devices can connect to your router at once.

Can Smart Switch control multiple lights?

Yes. Smart Switch can control multiple lights as long as the total power draw does not exceed the rated amperage and wattage of the Smart Switch. It is not recommended to wire more than 15 lights to Smart Switch.

Can Smart Switch be controlled by multiple users?

The user account that initially set up Smart Switch and connected it to the Wi-Fi network is the owner and primary account. Other users can also control Smart Switch but need to download the eufy app and get access permission by sending a request to the owner. After the owner accepts and grants access permission to the user, the user can control Smart Switch without going through the setup process.

Do I need to buy smart bulbs in order to be able to control lights with Smart Switch or Alexa?

No. Smart bulbs are not required. The switch will control whatever device is wired to it and can be voice-controlled via Alexa and Google Assistant.

Can Smart Switch track the energy consumption of the wired device?

NO.

Can multiple Smart Switches work with eufy Genie/Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant? If so, do I need to use separate names for each Smart Switch?

Yes. While you’re setting up the Smart Switches in the eufy app, you will be able to set a custom name and icon for each Smart Switch.

Does Smart Switch need to be installed in the same room that Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant are setup in?

No. If Smart Switch can connect to a Wi-Fi network and be controlled with the eufy app, it can be controlled by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Will the Timer and Schedule functions still take effect if Smart Switch cannot connect to the Internet?

Yes. Both functions will take effect even if Smart Switch cannot connect to the Internet. If the wired device is manually turned off, preset schedules will continue to work as programmed, but the countdown timer will stop.

 

However, if the power goes out when a timer or schedule is set, both Timer and Schedule date will be reset and will have to be reprogrammed.

Can I ask Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to turn off the power after 30 minutes since the eufy app has a timer function?

No. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant do not work with the eufy app's timer function. As of now, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can only turn on/off Smart Switch.

How do I change which Wi-Fi network Smart Switch connects to?

Press the RESET button for 5 seconds to reset the connection. After successfully resetting Smart Switch, just follow the Wi-Fi setup procedure in the eufy app.

Is there a difference between turning off the device manually (pressing the switch) or turning off the device via the eufy app?

No.

Does the Smart Switch use a lot of power when in Standby mode?

No. Smart Switch consumes less than 3.6W when in Standby mode.

Is it normal for Smart Switch to make a noise when I shake it around?

The noise is normal. This is due to the relays inside Smart Switch, which contain moving parts.

Can the Smart Switch also be used to brighten and dim the lights?

No. Smart Switch does not have a dimmer feature.

Can I manually turn on/off the device(s) wired to Smart Switch using the switch on Smart Switch?

Yes. When Smart Switch is connected to the electrical system properly, you will be able to control the device(s) wired to Smart Switch manually.

Can Smart Switch be installed if a Neutral wire is not available?

No. Smart Switch requires at least three wires to work properly: Live, Load, and Neutral.

Can Smart Switch be installed if a Ground wire is not available?

Yes. Smart Switch can be installed and will work properly if a Ground wire is not available.

Does the RESTART button have any effect?

If Smart Switch does not respond, press the RESTART button to restart it. This is the equivalent of turning off the power to Smart Switch and then turning on the power back on.
