If Smart Plug is not connected to the Internet, what should I do?

1. Make sure you are connecting Smart Plug to a 2.4GHz wireless network.

2. Check whether you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.

3. Check if there are any Internet connection problems. If the Wi-Fi signal is too weak, reset your wireless router and try again.

4. Your router may be set up to require you to add Smart Plug's MAC address in order for Smart Plug to connect to the Internet. If so, go to your router's security settings to add Smart Plug's MAC address.

5. The number of devices connected to the router has reached the maximum. If so, disconnect devices already connected to the router.

6. If it still cannot be connected, reset the smart plug and connect it to your Wi-Fi network again. Press and hold the Power Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart plug is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

If Smart Plug's status is offline, what should I do?

1. Check to see if the router is powered off. If the power is off, turn on the power.

2. Check to see if the router is disconnected from the Internet. If disconnected, consult your network provider.

3. Check to see if there is a power outage in your home. If the power is off, turn on the power.

4. Check to see if Smart Plug is disconnected from the router. If the connection has been dropped, you can try to restart Smart Plug.

5. If this doesn't work, reset Smart Plug and connect it to your Wi-Fi network again. Press and hold the Power Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart plug is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

There is no response when controlling the device with the eufy app.

1. Check whether Smart Plug is powered on.

2. Check whether there are any Internet connection problems. Reset your Wi-Fi router and try again if necessary.

3. If your smart device uses a 3G or 4G network, check whether the network signal strength is stable. If not, try again when the signal becomes more stable.

4. If you still have trouble, reset the Wi-Fi connection and restart the Wi-Fi setup process. Press and hold the Power Button for 5 seconds to reset the Wi-Fi connection. The LED indicator will start flashing and alternate between amber and blue, indicating the smart plug is ready for Wi-Fi set up.

I can't control the connected device via Alexa voice control.

1. Check if there are any Internet connection problems.

2. Check if you have installed the Alexa app onto your smart device and if you have enabled the "eufy Clean" skill in the Alexa app. You will be able to discover Smart Plug after doing this.

3. Check if you are using the proper commands when talking to Alexa. When making our request, first say the wake word "Alexa", then the command.

4.Repeat your question. Speak clearly to Alexa.

5. Check if you have modified the name of Smart Plug in the eufy app. If you have, you will need to rediscover the device through the Alexa app or Alexa voice control.

I can't control the connected device via Google Assistant voice control.

1.Check if there are any Internet connection problems.

2.Check if you have installed the Google Home app onto your smart device and enabled the “eufy Clean” Skill in the Google Home app.

3.Check if you are using the proper commands when talking to the Google Assistant. When making your request, first say the wake words “Ok Google”.

4.Repeat your question. Speak clearly to the Google Assistant.

5.Check if you have modified the name of Smart Plug in the eufy app. If yes, unlink your eufy Clean account from the Google Home app and then relink.

What should I do if Smart Plug automatically turns off?

Unplug the connected device and check whether the power required to operate the device exceeds 1800W. Smart Plug only supports devices that use a maximum of 1800W.

Does Smart Plug have multi-voltage support? Can I install and use Smart Plug in other countries?

Smart Plug has multi-voltage support and works in the range of 100-240V. But the voltage standard marked on the label complies with the local market's standard. Please check the size and specifications if you need to use this Smart Plug in another country.

Can Smart Plug be used outdoors?

Smart Plug is designed for indoor use, but can be used if there is a Wi-Fi signal outdoors and the outlet is protected by a roof or overhang. Due to the wide range of temperatures outside your home, Smart Plug might not operate properly if it exceeds the suggested operating temperatures.

What are the system and hardware requirements for the eufy app?

iOS 8.0 or higher

Android 4.3 or higher

Does Smart Plug support the 5GHz Wi-Fi network?

No. Currently, Smart Plug only supports the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.

Does Smart Plug support the IFTTT app?

No. Currently Smart Plug only supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

How do I use Smart Plug with eufy Genie / Amazon Echo / Google Assistant?

How many Smart Plugs can the eufy app control?

The eufy app can control an unlimited number of Smart Plugs.

 

However, the number of Smart Plugs that can be supported at any given time is limited to how many devices can connect to your router at once.

Can Smart Plug be controlled by multiple users?

The user account that initially set up Smart Plug and connected it to the Wi-Fi network is the owner and primary account. Other users can also control Smart Plug but need to download the eufy app and get access permission by sending a request to the owner. After the owner accepts and grants access permission to the user, the user can control Smart Plug without going through the setup process.

Can Smart Plug control multiple lights?

Yes. Smart Plug can control multiple lights as long as the total power draw does not exceed the rated amperage and wattage of the Smart Plug.

Do I need to buy smart bulbs in order to be able to control lights with Smart Plug or Alexa?

No. Smart bulbs are not required. The plug will control whatever device is plugged in it and can be voice-controlled via Alexa and Google Assistant.

Does Smart Plug need to be installed in the same room that Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant are setup in?

No. If Smart Plug can connect to a Wi-Fi network and be controlled with the eufy app, it can be controlled by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Will the Timer and Schedule functions still take effect if Smart Plug cannot connect to the Internet?

Yes. Both functions will take effect even if Smart Plug cannot connect to the Internet. If the plugged device is manually turned off, preset schedules will continue to work as programmed, but the countdown timer will stop.

 

However, if the power goes out when a timer or schedule is set, both Timer and Schedule date will be reset and will have to be reprogrammed.

Can Smart Plug track the energy consumption of the plugged device?

Yes. You can find the energy consumption readings in the eufy app.

Can multiple Smart Plugs work with eufy Genie/Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant? If so, do I need to use separate names for each Smart Plug?

Yes. While you’re setting up the Smart Plugs in the eufy app, you will be able to set a custom name and icon for each Smart Plug. .

If my TV is plugged into Smart Plug, can I turn on/off the TV with my voice via the Alexa voice service?

No. Most TVs go into a standby mode when you turn them off, enabling you to turn it via a remote control. But when the Smart Plug is turned off, all power is cut, so the TV cannot be turned on at all, even with a remote control.

Can I ask Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to turn off the power after 30 minutes since the eufy app has a timer function?

No. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant do not work with the eufy app's timer function. As of now, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can only turn on/off Smart Plugs and Smart Plugs.

How do I change which Wi-Fi network Smart Plug connects to?

Press the Power Button for 5 seconds to reset the connection. After successfully resetting Smart Plug, just follow the Wi-Fi setup procedure in the eufy app.

Is there a difference between turning off the device manually (pressing the switch) or turning off the device via the eufy app?

No.

Does Smart Plug use a lot of power when in Standby mode?

No. Smart Plug consumes less than 3.6W when in Standby mode.

Is it normal for Smart Plug to make a noise when I shake it around?

The noise is normal. This is due to the relays inside Smart Plug, which contain moving parts.

Can I plug a power strip into Smart Plug?

Yes. You can plug a power strip into a Smart Plug and control the on/off functions via the eufy app or voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The total draw and wattage of devices plugged into the power strip should be within the rated amperage and wattage of Smart Plug.

Does Smart Plug block the other outlet on the socket panel?

No. By design, if you plug Smart Plug into the top outlet, the bottom outlet will be available for use.

Can the Smart Plug also be used to brighten and dim the lights?

No. Smart Plug does not have a dimmer feature.

Can I manually turn on/off the device(s) plugged into Smart Plug?

Yes.

Can Smart Plug be plugged into a power outlet with only two slots?

No. Smart Plug can only be plugged into power outlets with three slots.
