eufy wired Video Doorbell may sometimes miss motion activity due to a couple of factors, please refer to the following factors that may lead to the wired Video Doorbell missing motion activity and how to correct them.
- Cause: By default, eufy wired Video Doorbell will detect all motions including humans and non-human objects, such as cars and animals, at a balanced detection setting. If the eufy wired Video Doorbell is set to detect human activity only, it may lead to missing motion detection.
Solution: To minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can set the type of motion that the video doorbell detects to all motion activities from both humans and non-human objects by launching eufy app > Doorbell Settings > Motion Detection > set Sensitivity to All Motion.
- Cause: eufy wired Video Doorbell will detect motion when motion activity occurs inside the video doorbell’s field of view or customized activity zones. If the wired Video Doorbell has activity zones configured, it may miss motion activities that occur outside of the pre-set activity zones.
Solution: To minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can either not set any activity zones or remove existing activity zones by launching eufy app > Doorbell Settings > Motion Detection > Activity Zone > remove activity zones and the wired Video Doorbell will be monitoring activities in its entire field of view.
Note: By setting an Ignored Zone on eufy wired Video Doorbell, it will also lead to missing motion detection if motion activity occurs in the Ignored Zone. Therefore, it is recommended not to set an Ignored Zone in an area where you want the video doorbell to monitor.
