How to Avoid Missing Motion Detection on eufy SoloCam

eufy SoloCam may sometimes miss motion activity based on several factors, please refer to the following factors that may lead to the SoloCam missing motion activity and how to correct them.

 

  1. Cause: In some cases, if the motion detection sensitivity of the SoloCam is set too low, the camera will not detect any minor movement, resulting in missing motion activity and not recording videos.

Solution: To minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can increase the sensitivity level by launching eufy app > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > adjust Detection Sensitivity accordingly. Additionally, the Motion Detection Test Mode in the Motion Detection setting of SoloCam is also a great tool to utilize in order to determine an ideal motion sensitivity setting based on your environment and preferences.

 

  1. Cause: By default, eufy SoloCam will detect all motions including humans and non-human objects, such as cars and animals. If the Detection Type setting is set to detect human activity only, it may lead to missing motion detection.

Solution: To minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can set the type of motion that the camera detects to all motion activities from both humans and non-human objects by launching eufy app > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > set it to All Motions. Additionally, you can also increase the Detection Sensitivity setting after the Detection Type has been set to All Motions.

 

  1. Cause: eufy SoloCam will detect motion when motion activity occurs inside the camera’s field of view or customized activity zones. If the SoloCam has activity zones configured, it may miss motion activities that occur outside of the pre-set activity zones.

Solution: To minimize the possibility of missing motion detection, you can either not set any activity zones or remove existing activity zones by launching eufy app > Camera Settings > Motion Detection > Activity Zone > remove activity zones and the SoloCam will be monitoring activities in its entire field of view.
