Suppose you are a eufy user residing in Europe and recently purchased a eufy Security device in the US. In that case, you may be wondering why you are experiencing difficulties connecting your device purchased in the US to your European router or HomeBase. This article is designed to provide a step-by-step guide on how to resolve the connection issue.
As illustrated in Diagram 1, eufy Security devices can only utilize Channels 1-11 in North America according to local laws and regulations; while Channels 1-13 are supported in Europe and other regions except North America. This indicates that the router or HomeBase network may randomly switch to Channels 12-13.
Diagram 1 - The Channels in Different Regions
Therefore, if a eufy user residing in Europe brings a US device back to Europe or other regions to set up, chances are that the router or HomeBase is working on Channels 12-13 when the US device keeps trying to connect to Channels 1-11 during the binding process, which will result in binding failure and the device cannot connect successfully.
Please refer to the following connection issues and their corresponding solutions.
Condition 1: The device cannot be connected to the router
- The router and device were purchased from different regions.
- The router's Channel setting is set to Channel 12 or 13.
Solution 1:
- Configure the router’s Channel setting to one of the channels between Channels 1-11.
Condition 2: The device cannot be paired to the HomeBase
- The HomeBase and device were purchased from different regions.
- The HomeBase is connected to the router via WiFi.
- The router's Channel setting is set to Channel 12 or 13.
Solution 2:
- Connect the HomeBase to the router via an Ethernet cable.
- Configure the router’s Channel setting to one of the channels between Channels 1-11.
