If you encounter an issue setting up the Fingerprint feature for your Video Smart Lock, please try the following troubleshooting steps to verify if the issue can be resolved.
1. Make sure your finger and the fingerprint sensor are clean and dry before starting.
2. Fingerprints for kids under 3-year-old and people over 70-year-old may not be as recognizable and it is more difficult for the Video Smart Lock’s fingerprint sensor to scan. Therefore, it is recommended to try scanning the fingerprints a few times or use a passcode instead.
3. Before scanning the fingerprints, please wait until the LED ring around the sensor flashes a white light.
4. Make sure your finger makes a solid contact with the sensor, especially the central area of the sensor. Please do not lift your finger until you hear a voice prompt from the Video Smart Lock.
5. You will hear a beeping sound and a corresponding number lights up every time you successfully scan a fingerprint. If you would like to scan the same fingerprint more than once, simply lift your finger and repeat the scanning process. Please note that the Video Smart Lock can store up to a total of eight fingerprints per enrollment to register one fingerprint.
6. Move or rotate your finger slightly between each scanning process during the enrollment for optimal recognition rate.
