Failed to Set Up 4G Starlight Camera

There is some important information for you to set up the 4G Starlight Camera

 

Preparation Before Setting Up the 4G Starlight Camera

1. Prepare a SIM Card.

  • If you purchase the 4G Starlight camera in US/UK/EU online, there should be an EIOTCLUB SIM Card that comes with the camera.
  • If the camera is purchased from other channels, customers may need to prepare a SIM card. To choose a SIM card, you can refer to 4G Starlight Camera SIM Card Guide.
 

2. Fully charge the 4G Starlight camera.

  • If the LED indicator has a blue light, it means the camera has enough power.
  • To charge the camera, please use the provided Micro-USB charging cable and a 9V/2A, 5V/2A, or 5V/1A USB charger. 
  • It usually takes about 4 to 6 hours to charge the camera from 0 to 100%.
 

3. Download eufySecurity App and create an account

  • eufySecurity app is compatible with Android OS (8.0+) and iOS (11+) phones and tablets. Learn more about eufySecurity App.
  • Please make sure you have downloaded the latest version of eufySecurity app. You can Download the eufy Security app from the App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play (Android devices). Or visit eufylife.com on your mobile device. 
  • After downloading the eufy Security app, please create or log in to your account. Learn more about Sign Up for a New eufy Security Account.

 

Tips When Setting Up 4G Starlight camera

1. Choose the right device in the app.

 Please make sure you have selected the correct device. You can find the device model information at the bottom of the camera. 


2. Insert a compatible and activated SIM card

  • There is no need to activate the EIOTCLUB SIM card which can be inserted the 4G Starlight Camera to use directly.
  • If you have another brand SIM card, please refer to the SIM Card Guide to confirm if your card is compatible with eufy 4G Starlight Camera. Please also consult your SIM card supplier to activate the card. 

 

3. Scan the QR Code

 

  • Authorize the camera permission on your phone.
  • Scan the code in a well-lit environment.
  • Move your mobile phone to ensure that the QR code can be within the recognition range and scan the code until you hear a "Di" sound (it shows the QR Code is scanned successfully)
  • If the QR code failed to be scanned, you can enter the camera SN(Serial Number) manually. Please refer to this picture to find the SN.


 

4. Choose a Setup method.


5. If there is no beep sound when pressing the SYNC button for 2 seconds, please try the following tips:

  • Press and hold the SYNC button on the camera for at least 2 seconds until the LED flashes blue.
  • If it still does not emit a beeping sound after being pressed for more than 2 seconds, try to first charge the camera for 30 minutes, then press the SYNC button on the camera 5 times in 3 seconds until you hear two beeps to restart the camera. Afterward, please try the pairing process again.

6. Camera can’t connect to the network.

The app said "Network connection successful", but setup failed.

  • Please try the setup process again.
  • Please try to reset the camera by pressing the SYNC button for 10s until you hear 2 beeps, and then try to add again

The app said "Network connection failed", and setup failed

  • Please make sure that the SIM card is inserted correctly, and you can also try to pull it out and reinsert it.

  • Please ensure that the SIM card has data. You can test the card on the mobile phone to see if it can be connected to the Internet normally.

  1. Send us a video showing the steps taken when pairing the Camera
  2. Upload App log via eufySecurity app by selecting the three-lined menu icon located at the top left corner of the app > About > Upload Log > App Logs and Device Logs; If the 'Upload Log' is not visible, please follow: Three-Lined Menu > About > Tab the "Eufy logo" for five times and choose "App log”
